The demand for sustainable and organic products continues to grow in
both local and international markets. However, many producers,
processors and enterprises still face uncertainty regarding organic
certification requirements, costs, processes and market opportunities.
To support greater understanding and practical awareness within the
sector, the SECO-funded Global Quality and Standards Programme – South
Africa (GQSP-SA), in collaboration with the South African Organic
Sector Organisation (SAOSO), is hosting an interactive webinar
bringing together sector experts, a certification body and enterprises
with hands-on experience in organic certification.
The webinar will explore:
Common myths and misconceptions surrounding organic certification;
Organic production and processing systems;
Local and international certification schemes;
Market opportunities linked to organic products; and
Practical experiences from certified enterprises in South Africa.
Participants will gain practical insights into certification
processes, compliance requirements, market access opportunities and
lessons learned from industry practitioners.
